It is only different in the way the next image comes into view - interlaced weaves two images together first whereas progressive draws the lot again.

Bluray is only outselling HDDVD because of PS3 sales.  Take them away and sales of actual stand alone players are pretty even between HDDVD and Bluray with HDDVD in the lead by 50,000 units (not much still).

The fact is 'mate' that DVD is doing just fine for Xbox360, maybe in the 'future' PS3 games will be better if the developers can be arsed (more likely is they will never get better than 360 so they can make money from porting) )but for now they suck.
