Pro: Final Fantasy XIII

Not really being optimistic

Final Fantasy XIII will be huge. I did a little checking to see if your claim that would be over shadowed by Halo 3, MGS and SSB, and here's the sales I found for the previous versions:

Halo 2 - 8.29 million (6.51 million USA)

Super Smash Bros Melee - 6.58 million (4.06 million USA)

FF XII - 4.94 million (1.68 million USA)

Con: Nintendo Wii

Where are the games?

Where are the good Wii games? It's been almost 9 months since launch. Wouldn't this be enough time for developers to figure out this system rocks, and to get on board making amazing games for it? So far, the only quality games that have come out for Wii have all been Nintendo titles (Wii Sports, Super Paper Mario, Zelda). Is it possible that what has been hailed as the newest way to play video games is actually the main barrier to developers making high end games for this system? ... [read more]

Con: Manhunt 2 Wii

Guess they did go too far...

It's one thing for the ESRB to rate Manhunt 2 with the dreaded AO, but quite another for both Sony and Nintendo to say they won't allow it on their consoles. This is absolute bull and more of a political move than anything.

Reggie, from Nintendo, said he was excited to see that Manhunt 2 was coming to the Wii and enjoyed working with Take-two to bring more of their titles to Nintendo's console. Now that the ESRB gave ... [read more]

Pro: Halo 3

Halo 3 will sell a crap-load

Oh yes, Halo 3 WILL sell a crap-load... and it will help move some consoles, especially Halo 2 fans waiting to buy a 360 just for Halo 3. However, after Halo 3, is there ANY game coming out that will sell like hotcakes? Or move systems on such a wide scale? Where's the next Gears of War? Grand Theft Auto IV might be able to, but that's on PS3 as well, and fundamentally comes out the same time as Halo 3 anyways, so the effect will be minimal. Unfortunately, ... [read more]

Con: Playstation 3

Even fanboys have to notice how bad it is doing

Even PS3 fanboys have to notice that their favorite system is in trouble. There have been just as few good Wii games released yet it continues to sell out at every chance and always exceeds expectations while the PS3 always comes up short. Learn to accept the fact that the masses of consumers that bought so many PS2's are NOT going to pay $600 dollars for what a majority of the public view as a video game console and only that. The general public does not care ... [read more]

Pro: Final Fantasy XIII

The more Final Fantasy, the better

There are some out there saying Square-Enix is going too far by planning 10 years of Final Fanatsy XIII. I couldn't disagree more. This what fans have always wanted, more extended story-line of a Final Fantasy Universe. Besides, if things start to go downhill, you know they will stop the spin-offs.

Now, I'll be the first to admit, they've made some mistakes with their spin-offs before, but overall they have done a good ... [read more]

Pro: Xbox 360 Elite

This is excellent

It's very encouraging to see Microsoft improve the Xbox 360 over time, especially the hard drive size. More and more people will want this console and a new better version just ups the ante.

A bigger hard drive should be a no brainer for anyone. Compared to how much more content they will have on Xbox Live and increasing file sizes, gamers will need more and more space to download new content. And if gamers have more space, ... [read more]

Con: Nintendo Wii

Nintendo dropping the ball again?

So, all that talk of working with third-parties more closely must have just meant they would help publishers with the Wiimote. And here I was hoping for better third-party support all around, including online and letting them use Miis.

I understand that Nintendo wants to bring out new features gradually, but waiting until a minimum of 2008 to let third-parties develop online games is ridiculous. Even if Nintendo does not have the ... [read more]

Pro: Manhunt 2 Wii

Can't wait

I can`t wait to stab, strangle, cut, slice, beat, and kill people...um, on Manhunt 2 for the Wii of course. Even though Jack Thompson and his cohorts will probably have a field day with the title, if the game is done right, it will be a great Mature rated title for the Wii, smashing Nintendo's kiddy image.

We all know Nintendo won't make a game even close to the intensity of Manhunt, so it's up to third party publishers to pick up ... [read more]

Con: Playstation 3

PS3's hidden costs

It has been recently revealed that the PS3 uses 380W of power. That will up the average gamer's power bill by about $100 per year. This included with the $600 console, $60 games, and $50 controllers add up to more than most people can afford.

Good thing for Sony that people are not smart with their money. If people were always on top of their finances, no one would buy the PS3 because they would not be able to fit it into their budget. However, the hardcore fan boys will find a way ... [read more]

Con: Gamestop

Gamestop threatens to fire employee entrepreneurs

Gamestop sent out memos stating that if an employee sells a PS3 on ebay, they will be immediately terminated. This doesn't seem quite legal to fire an employee for something he/she does on their own time.

It would be one thing if the employee got a discount on the product, but they won't be getting any such deal. In this situation, the employee should be treated like any other customer. Is it legal to do anything to a customer that turns around and sells something on ebay they ... [read more]

Con: Nintendo Wii

High price, late date

I was very disappointed with Nintendo's release info on the Wii. $250 does not seem like a very mass market price and being released AFTER the PS3 doesn't seem like a great idea either. Even though the $250 includes a game, they should have made it a much more reasonable $200. Now it is only $50 cheaper than the Xbox360 and that much closer to the price of a PS3.
And what is up with expensive extra controllers? $60 for another full featured controller? That seems quite steep, especially ... [read more]

Pro: Nintendo Wii

New Generation

The Wii begins a brand new path for video games. No longer will the industry be on geared towards hardcore gamers, but the whole population. It will become bigger than movies, bigger than TV, maybe even bigger than books. It is interactive entertainment at its finest. ... [read more]
