I'm sorry, but ur just one store, and u missed my point of my post entirely, yeah, it's annoying to setup, yeah they dont come with the hdmi cable right away. But what has that got to do with the console market right away? the ps3 has simply a longer financial life span, and sony is will still be making money off the ps2 for awhile, because games are still bloody coming out.

What do I like about the PS3?

Firstly wat I don't like about the other consoles.

Wii, just not interested in the games, I have a great deal of respect for Nintendo, but stupid decisions, the types of games they have done over the years (plus now), and not opening up completely to 3rd party sway me away.

360, same reasons i didnt like the xbox, just a basic normal computer capable console, nothing terribly bad about it, nothing special.

HD medium,

Ofcourse they look better they're ports.  I'm saying the actual medium, HD, not just dual layer dvd.  Exclusive game footage looks damn hotter than xbox potentials.  I couldn't care less about launch titles, with the cell processor and blu-ray disc games, the ps3 is gonna go soooo much further dude.

It has a place

Violence has a place in games, just as it has in films, Games is just another outlet for art, and violence, sex, basically all emotions we have as humans are apart of life. Bouncing on vegetables and mushrooms is all well and good, but not for ppl 14 and beyond. Totally Agree

I couldnt agree more that games are art, and should be thought of as such. Which is why actually that I've always been drawn to the types of games which levitate towards the playstation consoles. They aren't just games. Take MGS3 for an example, it's truely cinematic, has a terrific story, but u are also engrossed in the environment, Resident Evil aswell but it leaves you feeling differently haha.

On Sony provides substandard tools

Yes, microsoft makes it very easy for developers providing good developing tools, for a good system. Ingenuity is abound in that. This was made clear in the battle of the ps2 and xbox, and the more things change, the more they stay the same.

I actually disagree with it being a cheap marketing strategy, I think it's good PR the voucher idea. It means that ur garanteed a ps3 when it has left the factory, instead of sony just sitting on their hands and doing nothing.

Calm before the Storm

I'm sorry, but this really is the calm before the storm for wii and 360. Sony defiantely isn't losing face with the excellent ps2 and psp sales STILL going on. The reasons why sony will still be ontop in the end are;



1. Nintendo are still demographically disadvantaged by the approach to the market, the gaming climate is no longer for little kids. As such, both the 360 and ps3 will swallow up the wii, but it will hold a bit more of a respectable position from the past ... [read more]

sony losing dominance when it has hardly been fully released is utter nonsense

All companies make a loss on consoles, yes, Sony is prolly making the biggest loss out of all the consoles, but it's offering a lot more. Money is made up from other means with consoles, the console merely just gets the wedge in the door for future revenue in so to speak.
