Oh, You're One Of "Those"
Well, I suppose since I was asking if anyone else other than me thinks the word "fanboy" sounds like a constipated ten year old with a dirty diaper, it was natural a Sony lecture was in order.
There's a saying which goes, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." This means, you don't mess with perfection, and the 360 controller leapt so far ahead of Sony and Nintendo that both had to pack their controllers with gimmicks.
Let's say I own a ... [read more]

If You Would Have Read...
If you would have read my original argument, you would have read how it is advanced. Maybe you're one of those people who have to have something you can see and/or hold before you consider it advanced, so for your benefit I'll type it very slowly and more carefully this time.
The radio signal operates on an advanced principle (which is ironically based on an old, but hitherto unused technology invented by the silver screen actress Hedy Lamar). This guarantees an ... [read more]

Touch Screen is not a Nintendo Original
Stylus/touch input devices were around LONG before the DS touch screen. I'm pretty positive we'll see improvements to touch input (like on the I-Phone) in handhelds and, not impossibly, on console controllers as a gimmicky feature once some manufacturer surrenders their time honoured place in the market and needs an in to try and win back some of its former, but very lapsed glory.

"Fanboy". Stupid word, or just dumb?
I prefer the Xbox 360, and others prefer the PS3. So what's up with this fanboy name? I mean, if we're going to debate exactly why Xbox 360 is far superior to the PS3, we'll have to get past this gayest of names and introduce things called facts.
Facts, of course, are the real things that make Xbox 360 better than PS3, like its amazingly advanced controller, adaptability, versatility and user-friendly interface. Red ring of death? At least Microsoft put something ... [read more]

I Was Right In Every Sense
When you point out that someone's argument is missing criteria, and is thus an incomplete argument and thus opinion, it is not going off topic.
Returning "arguments" to more solid bases is the essence of debate, and not mentioning the incredible technological advances in the Xbox 360 controller, and saying it has "nothing new" is worse than opinion. It is propaganda.
As regards "advances," including the ergonomic improvements and technology ... [read more]

Missing Criteria
Saying who has the "best" controller from your argument turns it into a subjective opinion because there are criteria about the 360 controller missing. There are far more features in its design than merely "wireless" technology, plus the fact that the wireless technology is historical and unique.
Much of one's opinion of the best controller comes from what they were used to in the previous generation. This, of course, is not true with Wii players, as Nintendo ... [read more]

Excuse me?
Ergonomic refinement is considered an "addition," so saying the 360 controller brought nothing new, like the shoulder buttons, is inaccurate. Pointing out the more durable construction of the case is valid, but a little boring, but leaving out the Xbox guide button is a little unfair.
The wireless technology used by the 360 controller is very innovative, even if it's an old technology only now finding its place in history. Do we say this tech is old, or that Heddy Lamar ... [read more]

Coming Success?
Arguing the merits of any system on what's supposed to be coming down the tube is sort of like telling people not to eat meat on Fridays because Jesus is coming sometime. It might happen, it might be fanciful thinking, but the fact is, it's not here and now.
Arguing merits of a consumer product must take into account the here and now, except when debating how well the thing will adapt to future use, not future content. 1080p satelite will be cool, probably. Sure it will. ... [read more]

Facetious reasoning, false lead
Because one Sony battery product failed, you reason there's nothing stopping another product from failing catastrophically. However, this is not taken to its logical extent, that if there were a real danger there would have been a general recall, but change the direction of your argument into a subjective, unsourced observation that Sony's quality has deteriorated.
A more effective argument would have concentrated itself on the possibility of the batteries in ... [read more]
