Con: Super Smash Bros Brawl

Brawl Might not be so "Smashing"
Super Smash Bros. Melee for Cube was a great game. You can't deny it. But I'm becoming worried that Brawl might not live up to its SSB predecessors, and be a flop.
Why, you ask?
For one, I don't think there are enough new aspects to the game. Yeah, there are a couple new characters, new items, assist trophies, etc. - but when you watched a gameplay video, was there that much of a difference from Melee?
And, of course, there's online play... ... [read more]

Strikers Charged good - minor problems
I just picked up Super Mario Strikers: Charged today, and thought I’d share my thoughts so far on the game with you.
The game is very fast-paced, and it only gets faster online. There’s a good group of characters to choose from, and the ability to choose your 3 sidekicks adds a whole other level of strategy to the game.

Star Trek Conquest... it can't hurt
Star Trek: Conquest, a new action/strategy game, was just announced for the Wii today. It will be released towards the end of this year, for the low price of $30.
I’m surprised that it isn’t coming out earlier, since a lot of the non-Star Trek fans who may have been interested in the game will probably just buy Batallion Wars 2 at the end of October. Yeah, Star Trek will provide different scenery, and spaceships rather than tanks, but ST:C seems pretty similar ... [read more]

Nintendo Ignoring Hammer, Disaster
A couple weeks ago at E3, Nintendo said that they have “shifted development resources,” meaning the best case scenario for those looking forward to the game is a major delay. Most likely, the game was sacked… hammered… pounded into the ground… or, as IGN so nicely put it, canceled.
So, Nintendo, who was heavily criticized during the Gamecube era of overusing its core franchises and characters and not creating many new ones (for each Pikmin ... [read more]

Rockstar figures Nintendo knows what they're doing
You may be the kind of person who thinks Grand Theft Auto is trash, or you may be the kind of person whose played GTA for hours on end. No matter, when Rockstar announced that Manhunt 2 would make its way to the Wii, you were probably pretty surprised that Rockstar would be publishing a Wii game (the same system home to Miis and Mario)… and Manhunt is nothing short of extreme violence.
But then the ESRB gave Manhunt 2 the “AO” rating, causing a delay in its release ... [read more]
