Also its backwards compatability is not equal to the PS3, the xbox 360 does not include optional operating systems and the system could suffer from a fault only found in some console which could brick it, 3 year warentee does cover repair but what would happen if your console died after that? You can still get the 60gb PS3 which supplies are in stock for $499 or the new 80gb PS3 which includes Motorstorm (a $60 game) and 20 extra gigs which is a $100 value in itself. The PS3 for what is included is the cheaper console as for a Premium 360 to compare you would have to spend a extra $450 (HD-DVD, Wifi, 120gb hd, wireless controller with recharable bat and charger and live) and for a elite also another $300 (HD-DVD, Wifi, and live).

Sorry, in terms of Value for your buck, Sony wins hands down
