Con: Nintendo Wii

Non HD Vs HD Systems
There is a huge hole in your arguement. That is the market is different now then it was back then. Going between the PS2 and Xbox was very different then going from the Wii to a PS3. I love the Wii myself, I plan to get one at launch. I also don't believe the system will last longer than 3 years before the next Nintendo console is announced. They can't do like what they did with the DS then DS Lite here, it won't work.
So what is the hole I was talking to you about? It's simple. A HD System has more than better looking graphics, it has other tools that most people don't consider and just expect. I was talking to a friend about this article before I posted this comment, here is the difference between the PS3 and Wii.
PS3 system can:
Support HD up to 1080p (mostly this is where everyone stops).
Provide fully immersive surround sound rendered in real time.
More AI decisions due to a more complex processor.
More forms of physics engines working together.
More complex forms of engines can be used.
More immersive environments with each object having its own physics.
Memory of environmental damage (bullet holes stay in a level once put there).
More realistic character animation (Yes it takes a strong GPU for this).
More layers of sounds and effects. (All the calling out in call of duty 2 was because of this).
That is the tip of the iceburg. Wii will revolutionize the user interface, but that is it. Nintendo is taking a minimal risk with the Wii by not making it HD level. They don't have to make HD games or put the HD chip on the video card, but everything else adds stuff that can't be seen on the Wii ever!
Comparing last generation and next generation is like saying an apple is an orange. It also shows ignorance in the technology market, because all of nintendo's money went into making it small and the Wii Remote, where as the others went into more supportive hardware for developers.
Lastly I would like to dspell the neglectful claim that graphics don't matter for a video game. Video by the very word means your going to view. People by their own nature like to see better looking games. Graphics will always matter. If the Wii was so right about what they were doing they should have atleast given more of a powerhouse even if not HD for developers to work with.
