and your really dont need too.... BUT

now that the ps3 price has dropped to 500, the 360 with the same features(premium system, wifi, hddvd drive, and live) costs 250 more, thats 50% more expensive than the ps3 60 gb, and you get more hard drive space on the ps3

the 360 gpu might have some advantages but its NOT superior. the ps3's gpu runs at 550 mhz while the 360's runs at 500. thats a 10% ps3 advantage.

the advantage the 360 has is the unified shader architecture. this seems to be great, but is really not proven to offer a significant increase in performance. i believe it does offer a marginal performance increase, but not enough to make the gpu really SUPERIOR to the ps3's. i think they are the about the same. since the cell processor can render graphics though(clouds in warhawk, clouds and water in LAIR plus some other i dont know)it frees up some of the rsx's  power, allowing it to do more.

 and even if you do get the hddvd drive for the 360 it cant be used to play games, only watch movies, so games in the future are limited to only about 9 gigs in size, or multiple discs. this poses a problem because games coming out with loads of detail use lots of space. in fact, killzone 2 uses 2 gb for just one of the levels of gaming ,with no cgi. you could use multiple discs but a 20 level game with 2gb levels would be 4 dvd's. hahahaha

 and even if you didnt get the hddvd drive, if you wanted wifi it'll still cost you just as much as the ps3.

and before anybody mentions it, gears of war does look unbelievably awesome. jaw-dropping even. but if you look at killzone 2 it looks quite a bit better imo, and has a lot going on at once, especially compared to gears. thats not the main point though, the main point is that most games coming to the ps3 look just about that good. killzone 2 beats them all, but they do look just about as good. can you say that most 360 games look as good as gears? didnt think so.

and the blu ray drive isnt an unnecessary manditory add-on that is useless for people that dont have hdtv's, its also for GAMES. dont forget that, cuz its important
