Con: Manhunt 2 Wii

Guess they did go too far...
It's one thing for the ESRB to rate Manhunt 2 with the dreaded AO, but quite another for both Sony and Nintendo to say they won't allow it on their consoles. This is absolute bull and more of a political move than anything.
Reggie, from Nintendo, said he was excited to see that Manhunt 2 was coming to the Wii and enjoyed working with Take-two to bring more of their titles to Nintendo's console. Now that the ESRB gave the game an AO rating, suddenly Nintendo doesn't want anything to do with them. I also am not sure why Sony has taken issue with an AO game from the company that was a driving force in their PS2 victory last generation.
Now, Take-two is stuck between a rock and a hard place with no choice but to delay the game and change its content. They obviously cannot release the game for the Wii and PS2 without Nintendo's and Sony's consent and most stores will not care AO games anyway. They can petition the ESRB to change the rating, but I doubt that will happen with content changes to the game.
I know the game went over-the-top with its violence, but I believe consumers should be able to make the choice whether or not they want the game. If enough people didn't buy the game, Take-two wouldn't make a game like it again. But instead we have governments (Great Britain) and political associations (ESRB) telling us what we can and cannot play. Oh well, here's to hoping this was all an elaborate ploy by Take-two to get free publicity, and they always planned to tone down the violence...but I doubt it.
