Con: Playstation 3

Or not...
It would appear from all the press and web news that your prediction is some incorrect.
Welcome to the world of consumerism. Understanding the consumer is more important than how many bells and whistles your 'box' has. Consumers were asked a simple question (and to use an analogy): Would you pay x for a new car? Or would you prefer to pay 3x for a new car (that can fly)?
It strikes me that if Sony had marketed the PS3 as a Blu-ray drive with a console attached rather than the other way round we could be looking at a very different picture. Just examine the analogy above and ask yourself a different question:
Would you pay x for a new car, or would you pay 3x for a flying car (that can also drive like a normal car)?
The second question is much easier to answer than the first one.
Now the only way out would appear to be for Sony to drop the price significantly.
