Finally, a hardware upgrade

It's about time Sony did something to help their not so hot PSP system gain some more traction. The big thing I would look for in a hardware refresh is internal flash memory. And maybe a second analog stick would be nice.

I'm hoping internal flash memory is a no brainer for Sony, because they haven't been using their brain lately. Even if they had to add it for an initial loss, they would quickly recoup their money by having their PSP online store ready. I would love to download and play classic PS1 RPGs on the go. Personally, I don't think a normal hard drive would be a good idea, it would cut down on battery life and be too bulky. Here's hoping for maybe 8GB of internal flash memory.

A second analog stick would also be very nice to enhance the controllability of the games. It would also make it easier for developers to port PS1 games to be downloadable. And don't give me that “they can't change the control setup now!” Sony added two analog sticks part way through the PS1's life.

Hopefully, this will turn around Sony's portable away from its downward trend.
