Probably Right
The Wii is off to a fast start, BUT the system smacks of a fad (think Tickle-Me-Elmo). While I do believe that the Wii exists in a niche that will make it a successful system, it will suffer from the same game envy that the GameCube suffered from--lack of the state of the art games.
The general public loves the family friendly Wii, but they also loved the family friendly Pong in the 70s. Kids and teens drive game system sales! That means you can't rule the roost with rated PG content. By this time next year kids will be made fun of when they start talking about how much fun they are having on their Wii.
The Wii is a timely system, but it is more on par with the PS2 than the PS3 and when the next generation games start pushing the envelope, Nintendo will be having a hard time keeping up OR they will be working on the Wiii.
