Can't wait

I can`t wait to stab, strangle, cut, slice, beat, and kill people...um, on Manhunt 2 for the Wii of course. Even though Jack Thompson and his cohorts will probably have a field day with the title, if the game is done right, it will be a great Mature rated title for the Wii, smashing Nintendo's kiddy image.

We all know Nintendo won't make a game even close to the intensity of Manhunt, so it's up to third party publishers to pick up the slack, and Rockstar is finally getting on board with the Wii. I'm sure the sales of the system had something to do with the decision to bring Manhunt to the Wii, but I'll bet the developers are very excited at the prospect of using the free motion controls (as am I).

I'm sure critics will call this game a murder simulator, and maybe it comes close, but then so are all First Person Shooters. The backlash may be even more intense because the game is on the Wii, which is more family oriented than the other systems. Maybe it will teach parents and retailers to finally follow the ESRB ratings and not let their kids have whatever they want.

All in all this will be a good game for the Wii, breaking its kiddy image, and securing it as a hardcore platform and not just a party system.
