Shadow is not a Sonic game at all, moreso a crap fan service to the emos.
To be honest, it did indeed take me an hour to finish the third mission of the full Hero path before I ended up dying and having to start over. The game was -mysteriously- snapped in half the next day. It doesn't matter; it would probably have no trade-in value anywhere.
I've played the original Sonic games for probably more than 300 hours, and this is definitly not a Sonic game in any sort. Don't be telling me what a good Sonic game is. I GREW UP with Sonic.
