Main stream media hyping the system like no other

When Gamecube came out, it got little more than a small blurb at the bottom of the major news networks' screen. Now with the Wii, they are going all out with demonstrations that feed the hype machine almost guaranteeing Nintendo will do much better than last generation.

Major news networks are covering the Wii more heavily than they have any game system in the past. The Wii has been seen on the Today show, 24-hour news networks, and even PC Magazine has been giving the Wii glowing reviews (who normally don't cover game systems). They have all been swept away by its ease of use and fun game play. This mass exposure will ensure people know about the system and will generate massive hype. Once the general population sees it in action and then plays the system, they will want to get one of their own.

Many of the nay-sayers have said that most of the hype is by the Nintendo fanboys and limited to the online community, but all this main stream media coverage is proof that the Wii is truly a main stream product that will dominate the market.
