The xbx 360 can do 1080 p as well as ps3 ,not only does it do 1080 p but there are more games supported in that resulation on the xbox 360.
And due to the xbox 360 being a gaming machine (unlike sony blue ray push) the 360 can maintain a higher frame rate while playing games on it.Every game devoloper you can think of prefers the xbox 360 to devolope games on and as a result the multiplatform games will always look better.
The unreal 3 engine can't even run on the ps3 and sony is funding epic to try to get it to run with 256 of dedicared game ram good luck!
