Con: Playstation 3

PS3's hidden costs

It has been recently revealed that the PS3 uses 380W of power. That will up the average gamer's power bill by about $100 per year. This included with the $600 console, $60 games, and $50 controllers add up to more than most people can afford.

Good thing for Sony that people are not smart with their money. If people were always on top of their finances, no one would buy the PS3 because they would not be able to fit it into their budget. However, the hardcore fan boys will find a way to get the system, and have to cough up an extra $100 each year for the extra power. And let's face it, the cost of electricity is not going down. How much will it cost to run a PS3 in 5 years?

There will be no time in the near future where I will be able to afford Sony's system. Unless they lower the price considerably, the mass market will not purchase their system when the fan boy purchases stop. I see the credit card debt of the world to go way up if Sony is successful in making people think they want the system at all costs.
