Con: Gamestop

Gamestop threatens to fire employee entrepreneurs

Gamestop sent out memos stating that if an employee sells a PS3 on ebay, they will be immediately terminated. This doesn't seem quite legal to fire an employee for something he/she does on their own time.

It would be one thing if the employee got a discount on the product, but they won't be getting any such deal. In this situation, the employee should be treated like any other customer. Is it legal to do anything to a customer that turns around and sells something on ebay they bought at Gamestop?

This is intimidation at best, because if it was brought to court, Gamestop would lose. However, the store associates that 'loses' their job because of selling a system on ebay will most likely make 6 months worth of pay in profit, so they wouldn't worry about it anyway.
