Mega Wii displays at Best Buy will be great for sales
One of the main details that holds back many products is poor retail support. If a product gets a huge display and support from a major retail company, that translates into huge sales.
The positive response from the retail community will be a huge boost for the Wii this holiday season. The more exposure the Wii gets, the more sales and the larger the install base. This will work in a cycle of better retail support because of more sales, and more sales because of bigger support.
Large displays, like at Best Buy, are probably due to favorable circumstances, and Nintendo's marketing team. Since the Playstation 3 will be hard to come by, retailers don't want to use a lot of space displaying something they can't sell. The Wii will be plentiful this holiday, and the retailers see lots of dollars signs. Stores want to sell every one of their Wii's, and this will put the system in the hands of millions before the end of the year.
Xbox 360 may also have a big presence, but it is not the 'New & Hot' item this holiday. And reports have been showing that the 360 is not selling as well as it was expected to. Retailers want to display what will sell, and what will make them money, and the Wii fits that bill.
