Con: Xbox 360

Disappointing console sales
The Xbox 360 has not even kept up with what the original Xbox did in the the same time span. Although software is selling quite well, this does not bode well for the future of the console.
The article linked below seems to show the 360 in a happy light because heavy software sales mean more profits for Mircosoft and their investors. It also points out that the system is not selling as well as the, at the time, unproven Xbox. This is a critical problem for Microsoft if they cannot get enough consoles out there, and if either Sony or Nintendo take over the lead, Microsoft will lose software support. This would be a huge hit against the 360 software line-up and damage any plans of maintaining the lead they now have.
It is good that Microsoft is selling through lots of software, but new console owners always buy more games than the one that have had a machine for a while. Especially, if the sell rate of the 360 console goes down, that will not look good for future software sales. Microsoft needs to do something to increase console sales or else they will lose this battle before it begins.
